The sum of N1 million has been donated to victims of the Southern Kaduna attacks by a former gubernatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Isa Ashiru.
Making the donations to two IDP camps, Mariri and Mercy Camp in Lere and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas respectively, he expressed sympathy and lamented the incessant strife in the state, which has claimed innocent lives and properties.

Represented by his campaign Director-General, Amb. Sule Buba, he said the money was a token towards alleviating the situation of the IDPs.
While condemning the periodic attacks in Southern Kaduna, he urged the state government and security agencies to bring to an end the conflict, saying “The government should stop the blame game, be unbiased and live up to its cardinal responsibility of protecting lives and property of the people.”
In the same vein, he called on the people to eschew bitterness, shun violence and learn to live together in peace for the progress and development of the State.
Ardo Ruguni Pate, who received the donation at the Mariri Camp expressed the gratitude of the beneficiaries.
On his part, the coordinator of Mercy Camp, Reverend Gambo Waziri lamented that since the formation of the camp they had not received any call from the state government to sympathise with the victims except the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
