Barring any last minute change, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will organise its elective national convention on February 6, 2022.
A top official at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, told our correspondent, on Wednesday night, that the top echelon of the party was considering February 6 for the convention.
Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni, recently led a delegation of some APC stakeholders to a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, where it was resolved that the party would hold its national convention in February.
However, no specific date was announced.
But speaking with our correspondent, a top source in the APC said, “For now, we are considering February 6, for the convention.”
The Buni-led Caretaker Committee was inaugurated in June 2020, following the dissolution of the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) over alleged abuse of office.
The Committee is expected to organise a national convention where a new crop of NWC members would emerge.
