As part of the activities to commemorate Nigeria’s 61st Independence, Success of Nations and Governance (SONG) Africa hosted a webinar live session on zoom on Saturday, the 2nd of October themed Nation Building: The People’s Movement.
The Speakers at this event includes; Dr Mark Igiehon, the Chairperson and Founder of SONG Africa; Dr Uche Iloka, the Director of Programs; and the guest speaker, Mrs Alero Ayida-Otobo, the CEO of The School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG).

The webinar session was moderated by Chinonso Clark, the Executive Director of SONG AFRICA.
The Chairperson and Founder of SONG Africa said in his remark that the concept of nation-building and the need for citizens to work together towards the realization of the country they dream about continues to be a prevalent topic in recent times.
He said, since Nigeria’s independence, the citizens have looked to the government at all levels to solve their challenges; from the provision of adequate infrastructure to quality education, quality and affordable healthcare, security, etc.
“However, as we grapple with inflation and the continuous rise of the dollar, the citizens of our nation continually ask ‘Will it ever gets better?’, ‘How about the SDG Goals?’, ‘Is there hope for us as a nation?’
“As a people, we have come to the realization that the Nigeria we dream about will not happen by itself.
“Nation-building requires our collective effort. Efforts guided by insightful and visionary leaders who are willing to make sacrifices and reach compromises.
“Leaders who are equipped with the knowledge and with a mindset of service to the people which is part of the reason why we established SONG AFRICA,” he said.
The season was very engaging and insightful with participants all over Nigeria and in the diaspora.
