The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has urged manufacturers to ensure that their products comply with the requirements of the Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS) or risk losing their certificates.
The Director-General, SON, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke made the call at the certification ceremony of 52 companies who met up with the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Program (MANCAP) in Kano.
Represented by the State Coordinator, Kano Office II, Dr Ado Ibrahim, he said, “MANCAP certification is not just a badge of honour, it is a guarantee to consumers that your products have undergone rigorous testing and evaluation. It demonstrates your organisation’s ability to consistently produce high-quality products that meet the expectations of your customers.
“As we gather here today, we recognise the efforts of your organizations and you must ensure that your products comply with the requirements of the Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS). This achievement is a reflection of your company’s passion for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
