The Kano state office of Standards Organisation of Nigerian (SON) has commenced testing and certification of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plants across the state with a view to ensuring that standards are maintained in the business for public good and safety.
This follows the acquisition of a mobile pressure machine by the organisation in its bid to ensure that the safety of the public is not compromised in setting up the gas plants.
Speaking to reporters while flagging off the exercise on the newly installed AMMASCO gas plant in Kano, the state coordinator of SON, Malam Yunusa Mohammed, underscored the need for all gas plants in the state to be duly certified.
He said preparations have been concluded to embark on mass monitoring and testing of the plants across the state in order to ensure compliance to safety standards.
