Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their efforts in returning normalcy to eight local government councils in the state.
The governor recalled that as of March 2022, eight local government councils in the state were under siege by gunmen.
According to him, it was the professionalism and commitment of the Armed Forces, alongside the Anambra Vigilante services and the support of the people that ultimately led to the return of peace in the areas. The governor gave the commendation during a thanksgiving mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka yesterday in remembrance and honour of members of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
He expressed appreciation and gratitude for the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces, acknowledging their dedication to serving others. “My prayers, and those of the good people of Anambra, are continuously with you,” he said.
