Troops of the Nigerian Army on Tuesday repelled Boko Haram attack in Damaturu, Yobe state capital.
The assault, which started around 5:30pm in Maisandari and Madari wards was subdued by an Air Force fighter jet that supported the ground troops hours later.
Security operatives did not issued any statement in that regard, but residents in Ngaurawa village, along Maiduguri road confirmed seeing the insurgents retreated.

“We saw them passing around 4:40pm in fourteen hilux vans but only nine returned around 6:50pm,” one of the locals revealed.
