Protesters in Osogbo have defied a curfew to get onto the streets but soldiers deployed to enforce the curfew are pleading with them for calm.

When the protesters converged at the popular Olaiya junction, they saw the soldiers deployed and were not deterred.

One of the soldiers walked up to the protesters and pleaded with them to calm down with assurance that no one would shoot them.

Another soldier displayed the Nigerian flag and one other smiled and waved at the protesters.

The Soldiers begged the protesters not to destroy property and pleaded with them to respect the curfew.

The protesters are still at the site.
