Soldiers have arrested a wanted suspected bandit along Tsohon-Janruwa village road near Janjala in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.
A community leader from the area who confirmed the arrest to our reporter over the phone on Saturday, said the suspect was arrested on Thursday, around 5:48pm.
He said the soldiers, upon receiving intelligence information, mobilised to Akoti and Janjala communities and apprehended the suspect at a hideout.
He said the suspect was among bandits that attacked residents of Gidan-Abe and Rijana communities located along the Abuja-Kaduna highway recently, in which some residents were abducted and one person reportedly killed.

“The suspect has been on the run, until last Thursday, when a hunter was able to identify the location along Tsohon-Janruwa village, which is just a distance of one kilometer from Janjala, and soldiers swooped on him and arrested him,” he said.
The community leader also disclosed that a former councillor from the area has also been arrested for allegedly being an informant to bandits.
He said the former councillor, whose name he did not give for security reasons, was arrested at the SCC village market on Thursday, which was the village market day.
The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the arrest as at the time of filing the report.
