Soldiers have arrested two suspected bandits’ informants in the cattle market of SCC village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
A resident of neighbouring Azzara community, Kabiru Saleh, who confirmed the arrest through telephone on Thursday, said they were arrested when troops came to the market around 8am on Thursday.
He said, “The soldiers had been trailing the two suspects for over a month until this morning, being Thursday, when they noticed their presence in the market and swooped on them.”
A community leader who preferred anonymity, said, “The arrest of the two suspects is a big relief to us, especially those of us who own cows and sheep, because the suspects always go to village markets around Kachia and Kagarko to monitor those that have sold their cows or sheep. Before you know it, bandits will pick up such persons.”
The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the arrest.
