Soldiers kill bandits’ leader, 2 others in Kebbi

Soldiers operating in Sangeko forest, Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, have neutralised a notorious bandits’ commander, alias Mainasara and two other gang members.

The bandits’ kingpin and his gang members were reported to have carried out several deadly attacks on communities in the southern part of Kebbi State before they were neutralised by soldiers operating in the area.

The Director of Security, Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi, AbdulRahman Usman, disclosed this to journalists on Tuesday.

He said the troops were on routine patrol inside Sengeko forest when they intercepted the bandits and engaged them in a fierce gun duel and neutralised their leader and two other gang members.

‘’Two of their bikes were also recovered and destroyed before the troops withdrew to their station at FOB Malekachi,” the director of security said.
