Soldiers have foiled the abduction of some passengers on the Abuja-Kaduna highway near Gadan-Malam, a few kilometres away from Don-Fili community in Kaduna State.
A community leader in the area said the incident happened on Sunday around 6pm when bandits emerged from the bush and attempted to whisk away the passengers of an 18-seater bus.
He said the bus rammed into a pothole and that one of the tyres busted which brought it to a standstill.
He further said, “The driver and passengers alighted. While trying to change the tyre, bandits emerged, but the swift intervention of troops made the bandits flee.”
