Soldiers attached to Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in Plateau State, on Friday night allegedly beat a taxi driver, Sadik Abdullahi Karafa, to death.

The deceased was reportedly beaten by the soldiers stationed at Faringada Market while returning from Mangu before the curfew hour.

The curfew hour is from 10pm to 6am but Sadik was said to have returned around 9.20pm.

Abdullahi Karafa, an elder brother to the deceased narrated how his brother was killed by the soldiers.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the OPSH, Ishaku Takwa, said he would find out and get back to our correspondent. As at press time, he didn’t get back as promised.
