Sokoto:4,062 patients benefit from free eye care programme

A total of 4,062 persons with various eye ailments have been  treated under the second phase of the free eye care programme sponsored by representing Sokoto North Senatorial District,Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko. 

 
"The programme had surpassed its  initial projected target of 3,150  patients in 19 local government areas  of the state," a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity,  Bashir Rabe Mani disclosed. 
 
It said the programme  was flagged off at Sabon Birni town,  headquarters of Sabon Birni local government of the state on January 4,2018.

The statement noted that over 1,300 others were treated during  the first phase of the programme conducted in the eight local governments of the Sokoto North Senatorial District between July and August,2017. 
 
"Director of Administration for Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  Alhaji Al-Mustapha Abubakar lauded the various hospitals,  local governments,  their staff as well the various traditional rulers in the benefiting areas, for the invaluable cooperation towards ensuring the success of the programme," it stated.  
 
 
It expressed commitment of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko to initiate myriad of programmes, to further alleviate the suffering of the generality of the people of the state.
