The Sokoto State Coordinator of the NotYoungToRun Movement, Amb. Yakubu Abubakar has been elected as chairperson of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Sokoto State Chapter.
Abubakar polled 241 votes against his opponent, Yusuf Muhammad who got 62 votes.
Speaking shortly after the election, Abubakar promised to carry everybody along. “I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me on my journey into becoming the elected chairman of NYCN Sokoto state chapter.”
Speaking further, Abubakar said: “I sincerely appreciate and thanked my team for their tireless support; I want to assure you that I will never let you down.
“For the young men and young women from Sokoto State, I am ready to fight for your rights and ensure that more young people get elected into office as well as getting political appointments,” Abubakar noted.
