Sokoto police command presents N25m cheque to deceased officers

The Sokoto  State Police Command yesterday presented cheques of  over N25 million as insurance benefits to 16 relatives of police officers who died in active service.
The amount each beneficiary received varied with the highest being N6.1 million.
The state Commissioner of Police, Salisu Fagge Abdullahi, said the gesture was in fulfilment of the police authority’s pledge to improve the welfare of police officers and their dependants.
He said it was to assist the beneficiaries in carrying on with their lives. The police boss advised them to ensure judicious use of the money.
