The Peoples Democratic Party in Sokoto says it unanimously endorsed the decision of party stakeholders in Abuja to support and recognize Senator Ahmed Makarfi as authentic chairman of the party.
"We endorse the decisions taken by our leaders, including the agreement to appeal at Supreme Court," it stated.
This was contained in a statement by the state chairman of the party, Ibrahim Milgoma, after a meeting with state executive members of the party and local government party chairmen, held in Sokoto.
Milgoma described those supporting Senator Ali Sherrif as Chairman, in the state as "infiltrators who are hell bend of destroying what they did not build due to hatred, political intolerance and love of power."
According to him, Sokoto state chapter of the party, including its elders, party state executive members, chairmen from wards to local government and their supporters are 100% behind Makarfi as the only known and authenticated chairman.
"PDP remains our party; we will not accept any accidental arrangement or tolerate people that are eager to destroy not build, because of their hatred and the amateurism posture of leadership in the state," he stated.
Milgoma commended the efforts of Senator Makarfi’s led exco in appealing the judgment to douse the tension which he said was created by the appeal court judgment which was in favour of Senator Ali Modu Sherrif.
