As part of measures to boost security across Sokoto state, Governor Tambuwal has directed local government chairmen to reintroduce the monthly security meeting in their localities.

He gave the directive at a meeting with local government chairmen, traditional and religious leaders in the state.

Tambuwal harped on the need to ensure prompt attendance of the security meetings by all stakeholders at that level.

He also directed all district heads to write report about the situation of their localities every two weeks and submit same to the Sultanate Council for necessary action.

The governor also urged them to be more security conscious and monitor movements of persons in their domains.

He called on district heads to desist from granting mineral rights to illegal miners in their areas.

Tambuwal urged them to lead in mobilizing the populace on policies and programme of the government particularly in areas of health, education and  agriculture.
