The Sokoto State government has increased the monthly allowance given to the destitute in the state by 25 per cent.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu disclosed this during the 2024 International Day for People Living with Disability celebration at the government house on Wednesday.
The governor said the monthly allowance was increased from N6,500 to N10,000 for the 6,679 beneficiaries.

The governor also promised to increase the number of the beneficiaries to 10,000 soonest.
