The Sokoto  State Government has donated 2,000 mattresses and 1,000 beds to the National Youths Service Corps ( NYSC).

2,500 Corps members were deployed to the state  under the joint 2017, Batch B,  Stream II orientation camp.

The corp members are to serve in the three states, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara after the 3-week orientation exercise.

The state  Coordinator,  Alhaji Musa Abubakar who revealed this to newsmen on Wednesday said the gesture was part of the planned rehabilitation  of Permanent Orientation Camp in Wamakko by the state government.

The Coordinator commended Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for the gesture which would  further  improve the welfare and comfort of the Corps members

The Coordinator added that,   the camp opens on Tuesday,  16th of January,  2018, while registration closes by midnight on Wednesday,  17th January,  2018.

In the same vein,  the swearing in ceremony of the successful Corps members would be conducted on Thursday, 18th January, 2018.

Alhaji Musa Abubakar further said that,  the development was made possible sequel to the excellent relationship between the scheme and state government,  Sultanate Council of Sokoto and other stakeholders. 

He also averred that,  the decision was as a result of the excellent facilities at the Permanent Orientation Camp Wamakko. 

Alhaji Musa Abubakar solicited the sustained support and cooperation of all the stakeholders to the scheme.
