The Sokoto State Government has extended its free malaria treatment and blood screening to 293 more Primary Health Centres across the state.
The Director General, Sokoto State Malaria Elimination Agency, Muslim Gobir, disclosed this to our reporter yesterday.

Gobir said the programme was available in 282 centres before the extension.
He noted that malaria-related deaths, especially among children, had dropped significantly in the state because of the seasonal malaria chemo-prevention drugs.
He added that 3.2 million treated nets would soon be distributed to residents of the state.
Both the drugs and nets, he said, were provided in collaboration with USAID-PMI.
