Daily Trust gathered that the projects were funded by the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development which the deputy governor is overseeing.
But the spokesman of the deputy governor, Aminu Abdullahi Abubakar, explained that the project was awarded long before the appointment of the deputy governor’s father as district head.
He said the project was part of the five-kilometre roads in all the 23 local government areas initiated by past administrations and as such was not a selective project.
