A social media babalawo, Sultan Ojuwoni Atakoro, has been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command over alleged rape of a 21-year-old woman and fraud.

It was gathered that the victim (name withheld) was serially raped amid other offences by Atakoro in his shrine in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Our correspondent learnt that the victim, following a disagreement with her mother, relocated to her mum’s friend’s place, one Alhaja Omowumi, in Ilọrin.

However, Alhaja Omowumi, it was gathered, later said her gold earrings were missing and dragged the victim together with two of her own children to the police at B Division, Ilọrin, and later to the babalawo in Ibadan for spiritual consultation, where she was raped several times.

When contacted, the command’s spokesman, DSP Adetoun Adeyemi, said, “The suspect, Atakoro, is already in our custody undergoing investigation. He will be charged to court once we are through with him any time from now.”
