Derek stated this at the SME World Tour roundtable held in Lagos where the SAP team introduced a wide range of business solutions softwares for SMEs to mitigate effects of the economic down turn and help them maximise profits.

SAP, a German technology is the third biggest software producer globally and largest business software provider in the world.

In this downturn, “business owners and executives in Africa should focus on what they can do to protect their organisations and staff from the inevitable downturn. Business owners and business executives today can use the right information to save money and make more profitable money,” Kudsee said adding that “that information is created through the use of the right technology.

“Business owners and business executives should focus on the right technology now because everybody is making decisions regardless of the economic scenario. The decision is based on information and the accuracy of that information. If the information is not factual, whatever economic climate you are in, you may make the wrong decision. And right now the wrong decisions will put people out of business.”

Luciano Ravenna, SME programme director Sap Africa explained that SAP offered robust business solutions softwares that would help businesses reduce cost and manage their daily operations profitably.

 “We cover services, wholesale, distribution, financial services, banking, oil and gas, process manufacturing in at least 29 industry areas including oil and gas, telecoms, process manufacturing and finance,” he explained.

Nazir Jadavji, SAP business one channel manger Africa region further explained that their partners who were trained to provide the solutions in Nigeria on behalf of SAP provide 24 hours support services.
