The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has engaged artisan and transports in Kaduna State on the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Survival Fund.
The Artisan and Transport Support Scheme provides 330,000 beneficiaries with N30,000 grant to reduce the effect of income loss during COVID-19 pandemic.
Director-General of SMEDAN, Alhaji Dikko Radda, said MSME’s are the engine room for the economic sustainability of every nation, hence the need to support businesses affected by the COVID-19 lock-down.
He mentioned the categories to include the Guaranteed Take-Off scheme with government buying traders’ products from N150,000 each; the Pay-Roll Support Scheme for employers who couldn’t pay workers during the lock-down, and the Artisan and Transport Support scheme with a N30,000 grant each.
“They have to be Nigerian’s, they have to be operating their activity in Nigeria, they must have Bank Verification Number (BVN) because the money will be sent directly to their account and if it is an enterprise, it must have a Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration.”
