The Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda, has said the agency is partnering with the private sector towards reviving Industrial Development Centres (IDCs) in the country.
Radda stated this during the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the management of the Builders Hub Impact Investment programme, in Abuja. “We are looking at ways to develop our Industrial Development Centres (IDCs) into cluster parks for a specific product so that we can assist them with finance, monitor them and provide them with the necessary infrastructure to develop,” Radda said.
He further stated that the signing of the MoU is to give a helping hand to the micro and the small businesses in the country so that they can develop in terms of creation of wealth as well as job creation. In her remark, the MD/CEO of the Builders Hub Impact Investment programme, Natasha Akpoti said the initiative is set up to revive abandoned and local industries in Nigeria.
