Skyline university offers N1.5bn scholarship to 385 students

The Skyline University of Nigeria has concluded plans to award scholarships worth N1.5 billion to 385 Nigerian students for the 2022/2023 academic session. 

Vice Chancellor of the Kano-based University, Prof. Ajith Kumar V.V, in a statement said the gesture was part of activities to celebrate five years anniversary of the university in Nigeria. 

He said the initiative would empower 25 candidates in B.NSc. Nursing and 20 candidates each in 18 other programmes, adding that “five young women will be awarded 100% sponsorship, while 20 young women will be awarded 50% sponsorship on tuition fees in B.NSc. Nursing programme and 50% scholarship would be awarded to 20 candidates each in 18 other programmes.”

The VC stated that the empowerment of women and the youth in the community would impact positively not only in the areas of their corporate inclusion, but would help to improve entrepreneurship representation as well as showcase their contribution to national development. 

He said in the formalisation of the initiative, application was open from August 23 – September 12 while exams would be conducted on September 17 at the university.

He added that interested and qualified candidates must be between the ages of 16 and 25, and meet the university admissions criteria with required grades/scores in SSCE and JAMB, urging them to apply via the university’s online portal.
