Six out of seven governorship aspirants under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State have signed a memorandum of understanding on peaceful primaries.

Addressing the aspirants on Monday after the memorandum signing, the state party chairman, Barrister Tahir Shehu, said the process was meant to ensure peaceful conduct of the party’s primaries.

Governorship aspirants who participated in the event include former governor, Bala Ngilari; former acting governor, Ahmadu Fintiri; Chief Protocol Officer to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Ambassador Jamil Zubairu; and Barrister Aliyu Ahmad.

He noted that the effort would make supporters of the aspirants to respect the outcome of the upcoming primaries and support any candidate that emerges as winner.

“This ensures that the party reclaims its mandate as the ruling party in the state come 2019”, he stated.
