The six accused are: Ajayi Babatunde, 28, Goodluck Ohiroenwan 20, Basiru Adeyanju, 40, Gabriel Oduma, 28, Happy Egbaha, 36, and Simeon Daniel, 35. They were separately arraigned for being in possession of various kilogrammes of Indian hemp, popularly known as cannabis sativa.
Convicting the accused, the trial judge, Justice G. C. Okeke, said the prosecution proved the case against them beyond reasonable doubt.
Meanwhile, The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), represented by its counsel, Mrs. Beatrice Igberaesen, has tendered the certificate of test analysis, package of substance form and confessional statement of each of the accused person before the court and they were admitted as exhibits.
The first accused person, Ajayi Babatunde was arraigned for being in possession of 400 grammes of Indian hemp at Omu-Iyadun area of Ilepa-Ikare on March 27, 2010.
