Six die, 24 injured in Lagos-Ibadan road crash

A road crash involving a white Toyota bus and a white Mazda bus yesterday killed six persons while 24 others were injured along the Lagos -Ibadan expressway in Ogun State.

Our correspondent learned that the accident which occurred around construction zone by Isara and Ogere on the expressway,  was reportedly attributed to speeding and wrongful overtaking by the Mazda bus driver.

The Sector Commander,  Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC),  Clement Oladele who confirmed the incident in Abeokuta, said 30 people were involved in the accident out of which six died, while 24 sustained injuries.

Oladele said the FRSC team rescued injured victims and took them to Victory Hospital in Ogere and Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu.

The sector commander added that the corpses of the six  victims were deposited at the OOUTH mortuary,  Sagamu and FOS Morgue,  Ipara.
