Once again, popular Nigerian singer turned politician Olubankole Wellington fondly referred to as Banky W, has thrown his hat into the ring as he has declared his intention to run for the house of representatives, this time, under the ‘umbrella’ of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The father of one revealed his ambition in a series of posts via his verified social media handles on Friday. He further stated that the official declaration of his ambition would take place today in Lagos.

Also known as an actor, Banky W aims to represent Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in the house of representatives in 2023.
He tweeted, “We must engage with Nigeria where it is, not where we prefer for it to be. In 2019, we planted the seed. In 2023, by the grace of God, and with your support, we will win the seat. The time for just talking is over. It’s time to #TalkAndDo. I hope I can count on you. We move.”

Meanwhile, his colleague from Abia State, Martins Okechukwu Justice popularly known as J. Martins, has also announced that he would contest for the house of Representatives.
Although the singer has not announced the political platform he hopes to join to make his dream a reality, J. Martins via his verified social media account urged the people of Abia state to join him in this struggle for a better representation.
He wrote, “It’s about time to take the necessary action and correct the mistakes of our fathers “Enough Is Enough” I will be running for the Federal House Of Representative Arochukwu/Ohafia Constituency Abia State come 2023. Join me in this struggle for a better representation for my people, Ohafia Kaa ni w.”(sic)
