The head of two-wheelers section of the automobile firm, Mr Ritesh Kumar Nair in a press briefing blamed poor transportation system for over 60 percent of losses suffered by rural farmers annually in the country, saying the new brands of the motorcycles will offer a new option for farmers to overcome their long standing issues.

“This new brands of Simba motorcycles are targeted at farmers in remote communities with varying challenges of access roads, so that they could have alternative means of transporting their farm produce to the market.

“We observed that because of their low income level, few among them that could afford motorcycles are buying used vehicles imported from other countries, because of that we are introducing these new brands at the same price they are buying old ones.” Nair said.

Kano state commissioner for works, housing and transportation, Engr. Aminu Aliyu Wudil, expressed delight over the innovation, reiterating government’s commitment to providing conducive business environment for private investments in the state.
