A first class Chief in Plateau State, the Agwom Izere, His Royal Highness, Rev Dr. Isaac Azi Wakili, has been kidnapped.
The gunmen were said to have stormed his palace in Shere community of Jos East local government area of Plateau State and whisked him away.

A source told our correspondent that the gunmen shot a local security man, and injured a police officer attached to the palace before taking the traditional ruler to an unknown destination.
It was further learnt that the gunmen were given a chase by the local hunters in the area when they got the information, but the gunmen kept changing their track until they could no longer be traced by the hunters.
The paramount ruler, it was gathered, has been sick and his health condition is a concern to the community.
