Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has admitted it would be a big challenge against Egypt in AFCON 2017 qualifiers this month, but he is confident that with hard work Nigeria could come out on top.

“The job of handling the Super Eagles is not too tasking, but rather it is a big challenge. It is not like a mountain we cannot climb, but it is a very tough one,” said Siasia, who is getting a second chance with his country’s full international team after Sunday Oliseh threw in the towel last week.

“I am not feeling any pressure. All we want to do is to make sure that we do well in the next coming games, that it is.”

The coach also confirmed he met with the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation today in Abuja and he will also meet with the NFF technical committee on Thursday after which the squad list for the matches against Egypt will be announced.

“We actually discussed with the technical director Shuaibu Amodu to try to put the list of the invited players together. So, after the meeting of the technical committee on Thursday, the list would be released,” he further disclosed.

The caretaker coach also said he would be delighted to welcome back Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike for this month’s AFCON qualifiers against Egypt even after both quit international football.

Both Lille goalkeeper Enyeama and West Ham striker Emenike have made it clear they will not be rescinding their decision to play again for Nigeria even after the exit of Sunday Oliseh, who widely believed to have forced them out of the national team.

Siasia disclosed the Eagles secretary has already spoken to the two players and he also hopes to have a word with them.

“I will also talk to them.  If they can help us of course we will be happy to see them back in the team,” Siasia said.

“I have not directly contacted any of the players for now but I told the team secretary Dayo Enebi to get in touch and also forward their numbers to me to talk to them too.”

Siasia gave Emenike his Eagles in 2011, but he had a major fall out with Enyeama when he was first in charge of the country’s team.
