The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani, has urged Nigerians to shun violence and embrace peace to ensure peaceful coexistence in the country.
Tijjani made the call at a peace summit organised by the Messengers of Peace Foundation in Abuja.

The theme of the summit was, “The Role of Gatekeepers in Peaceful Co-existence in Nigeria.”
The minister, represented by the head of Teamramatu, Hajiya Aisha Baiyee, stressed the need for all Nigerians to embrace peace in the country.
“We all need peace because without it there will be no coexistence and development. We pray for peaceful coexistence in the country,” she said.
The national president of Messengers of Peace Foundation, Dr Sulaiman Adejor, said the aim of the summit was to educate people on the importance of maintaining peace at all times.
Adejor said the Foundation’s mandate was aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence, irrespective of tribe, gender or religion among Nigerians. (NAN)
