The Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Owan Enoh, has told the Super Eagles to focus on their training sessions and avoid the social media as they prepare to take on Cameroon in the AFCON last-16 on Saturday.
The Minister spoke during a Zoom meeting with the Super Eagles players and coaches on Wednesday.
“Please listen to the coach. Don’t lose focus, let your eyes remain on the ball. I will further suggest that at a moment like this forget about social media. Don’t even look at your WhatsApp messages anymore so that you don’t lose concentration. You are going to find a lot of comments by Nigerians that are too eager to have you continue to win,” Enoh said.
“So don’t get distracted, remain focused and use this tournament to make additional names for yourselves. Imagine what it would be like if you win our fourth AFCON and go down in our sporting history as those young men that gave our country a remarkable achievement by winning the AFCON for the fourth time. It will be an unforgettable moment.

“Our next match is against Cameroon and I think that we should use every match to improve ourselves more and more,” he said.
Peseiro’s men remain unbeaten in the tournament so far after two wins and one draw.
