The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has described elder statesman and former Head of Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan as an epitome of service to humanity and commitment to socio-economic development of Nigeria.
The governor said in a congratulation message to mark Shonekan’s 80th birthday anniversary, that the former head of Interim National Government’s exploits went beyond private and public sectors.
The statement signed by Adejuwon Soyinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, said, “Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has congratulated elder statesman and former Interim President of Nigeria, Chief Ernest Shonekan, as he reaches the milestone age of 80 on Monday, May 9. Chief Shonekan’s contributions to national development both in the private and public sector remains highly commendable and easily recommend him as one of the prides of Ogun State and by extension, Nigeria.
“Beyond your exploits in the private sector, the public sector also benefitted immensely from your wide ranging experiences as a seasoned administrator, particularly when you served as the Head of the Interim National Government in Nigeria in 1993.”
