Residents of Kaduna state have expressed shock and relief as the state experienced it’s first rain which lasted for over seven hours.
Rain in Kaduna it was gathered is usually expected around May, but for it to rain for many hours in March came as a surprise to residents.
The rain also brought relief to the residents, who had been under hot weather for months.
The quite rain, which started from Thursday midnight till 7am Friday morning was not accompanied with storms or thunder, making some residents describe it as a huge blessing.
A resident of Unguwan Dosa, Hajiya Maimuna Isa said, “It was quite a shock to me when I woke up around 2am to hear light rain in March and especially on a Friday. I pray this is a sign of good things to come.”
According to her, “The rain cooled the the town because it lasted for hours and enabled residents to sleep better since it was quite.”
She however advised farmers not to plant their crops but wait till the raining season commences properly.
Another resident of Unguwan Rimi, Hamza Idris described the rain as a welcome development and a great relief.
He thanked God for the blessing and called on residents to see the rain as a sign for brotherly love and harmony.
