Enugu Rangers midfielder, Tony Msonter Shimaga has expressed happiness over his invitation to the Home-Based Super Eagles.

Despite sterling performances in the colours of Rangers, this is the first time the combative midfielder is receiving invitation to the national team.

He is among four players that Coach Imama Amapakabo has invited to beef up the squad ahead of the return of 2020 CHAN qualifiers against Togo.

The Home-based Super Eagles suffered a crushing 1-4 loss in the first leg played in Lome and are in desperate need of at least three unreplied goals to stand a chance of qualifying for the biennial championship.

Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, the former FC IfeanyiUbah star said his invitation is dream come true for him.

He therefore promised to give his best to help the team qualify for the 2020 CHAN in Cameroon.

“This is actually my first invitation to the national team. It has been my dream to represent Nigeria so I will take this opportunity with both hands.

“The task before us is huge but I believe with hard work and determination, we would scale the hurdle.
