Shettima gave the commendation while presenting two patrol vehicles, food items and five million Naira to members of the CJTF, at the Government House, Maiduguri.

He commended members of the voluntary vigilante group for their sacrifice and contributions in the campaign against insurgency.

The governor, however, called on them to remain discipline, focus and more proactive in the fight against insurgency and peace restoration process.

Also, Alhaji Kakashehu Lawal, the CJTF’s Chairman, said that members of the group were committed to protection of lives and property in the state.

Lawal assured of their support and cooperation with the military and other security agencies, to ensure successful implementation of the counter insurgency campaign.

NAN reports that Gubio is about 50 km from Maiduguri, which has experienced several attacks by the insurgents in the past, including the attack and abduction of the University of Maiduguri lecturers, who recently regained their freedom after a negotiation with the Federal Government.
