Global primary healthcare icon, Professor Emeritus Umaru Shehu, and a former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Engr Ibrahim M. Ali, are among the seven Honorary Special Advisers appointed by Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State to assist him in the discharge of his duties.
Among the seven are also two former deputy governors of the state, Alhaji Adamu Shettima Yuguda Final and Alhaji Ali Abubakar Jatau; a former Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bashir Maidugu, a former Head of Service in the state, Alhaji Haruna Idrida Timta and a renowned physician, Professor Dili Dogo.
The governor inaugurated them Wednesday in Maiduguri, along with 17 other special advisers and chairmen and deputies of 24 local government transition committees.
Professor Umaru Shehu is to properly advise the governor on Primary Healthcare; Engr. Ibrahim Ali, Agriculture and Special Projects; both former deputy governors, Political Affairs; Professor Dogo, Health; Barr. Maidugu, Infrastructure; and Alhaji Timta, Administration/Public Service.
