Shell, Chevron, Dangote, NNPC, Nestle, 15 others top Jobberman’s Best 100 Companies to work for in Nigeria

Shell PLC has been ranked the best company to work for in Nigeria this year.

Jobberman’s chief executive, Hilda Kabushenga Kragha, revealed this in Lagos on Thursday while presenting the 2019 edition of the annual Jobberman Best 100 companies to work for in Nigeria report.

Other leading companies include Chevron, Dangote Group, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and Nestle PLC.

Among the top 20 from the 100 companies considered in the report are ExxonMobil, MTN Nigeria, Total, Andela, KPMG, PWC, GTBank, Unilever, Google Nigeria, Globacom, Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC), and Deloitte.

According to her, the report is a compilation of the best and most sought-after employers across Nigeria, as voted by current, former, and prospective employees on the parameters they consider important.

The fifth edition of the ranking considered a total of 3,148 valid respondents, consisting of career professionals and employees from two survey sets of external and internal.

The external survey targeted the general public while the internal survey focused on employees working at numerous companies in Nigeria.

She said majority of the respondents are aged between 25-35 and 18-24 and hold at least a Bachelor’s degree.

“A key theme in this year’s edition of the Best 100 Companies to Work For in Nigeria is “employee satisfaction and happiness levels,” she said.

She noted that Jobberman’s service have grown over the years with attendant success rate, saying Jobberman remains the No.1 recruitment platform in Nigeria, as it focuses on making it convenient for employers to access a large pool of qualified candidates for their vacancies.

“It is vital for employers to understand that employee satisfaction is a major factor that can help determine the organisation’s overall well-being; thus, rigorous strategies to ensure, measure, track, and improve employee satisfaction should always be held in high regard,” the company stated in the report.

Shell was voted the best company to work for in 2019 while Chevron was the most respected and admired as well as the most desired company to work for in Nigeria in the year under review.

Commenting on the report, a guest-participant at the event, who craved anonymity, said: “a company should support workers in their career and personal life, and share love with her workers often.”

Participants at the unveiling of the report also witnessed the presentation of awards to the ‘Top 20 Companies to work for in 2019.’
