A famous Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, yesterday lost his daughter, Maryam.
Maryam died in Abuja after battling with sickle cell anaemia and was buried in Kaduna yesterday.
Her funeral prayer was conducted by her father, Sheikh Ahmadu Gumi after zuhur prayer.

She was buried at the family’s house along the Modibbo Adama Road, Kaduna.
Among those who attended the funeral were former Kaduna State Governors Ahmed Makarfi and Ramalan Yero, Sheikh Yusuf Sambo Rigacikun, Sheikh Tukur Adam Al-mannar, the Chief Imam of Danfodio Mosque Sheikh Abdulhadi and the Chief Imam of Sardauna Memorial College Sheikh Said.
