The Shehu of Dikwa, Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim El-kanemi, has urged frontline troops to facilitate unrestricted farming activities in his domain by implementing robust security measures to safeguard the lives and property of residents in the agrarian community.
He made this appeal during a meeting with Brigadier-General E.B Barkins, the newly deployed commander of the 24 Taskforce Brigade in Dikwa, Borno State.
The Shehu emphasised the importance of protecting farmers in Dikwa, Ngala and Kala-Balge local government areas from Boko Haram terrorists, acknowledging the military’s efforts in restoring peace and security in the region.
He pledged continued support and prayers for the military’s mission to maintain peace and stability in the country.

In response, Brigadier-General EB Barkins, accompanied by senior officers, expressed gratitude for the Shehu’s support and sought his blessings for ongoing counterinsurgency operations.
He reassured that his troops would uphold the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, ensuring security for all citizens.
