Shehu of Borno appoints Wanori as Zanna Nganzaima

The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai AlAmin El-Kanemi, has appointed Engineer Kabiru Mohammed Wanori as the new Zanna Nganzaima of Borno, about 90 years after the death of the last holder of the title.
Zanna Nganzaima of Borno is responsible for prison matters and enforcement of discipline in the Kanem Borno Empire.
The appointment was announced by the Waziri (Prime Minister) of Borno Emirate Council, Alhaji Yarima Mustapha Muktar.
The Shehu, while hosting Engr. Wanori who was in the palace on a thank you visit, said the appointment was based on the outstanding contributions made by Kabiru Wanori, an illustrious son, towards youth empowerment and entrepreneurship.
 He advised him to be patient with people as the office demands a lot from him.
Wanori said he was overwhelmed by the honour, adding that he has been re-energised to contribute more to the development of youth and the society as a whole.
