Shecluded appoints Farida Yahya as VP

Shecluded has appointed Farida Yahya to help support the brand’s goal of expanding its operations and impact in Northern Nigeria.

The company disclosed the appointment of Farida who is a management consultant and business development manager with over 12 years of experience, in a statement in Abuja.

Farida is a social entrepreneur, a published author and an active citizen, committed to building and empowering local communities through enterprise development.

While working as a Program Coach with Future Females Empowerment initiative under the UK Aid-funded business school program, she helped improve the business model and team-building strategy of early-stage, female-owned, tech-enabled businesses of over 600 women in Nigeria by guiding them through the business school’s concierge curriculum.

Over the past six years, Farida has impacted over 1200 women and 500 startups.

She does this by providing a sustainable digital learning experience that enables female founders from underserved communities to build scalable businesses, fulfil their potential and lead happy lives.

Farida has a background in Biochemistry and business development with over twelve years of working experience. Farida volunteers as a career mentor for several groups including; skills outside school foundation, Northbridge foundation, YALI RLC and the US State department’s ECA-funded AWE program.

Farida sits on the board of several private and nongovernmental organizations that support the startup ecosystem and economic prosperity of women.

According to Farida, what she finds exciting about joining Shecluded is that: “Aside expanding the reach of the brand that is Shecluded, I find it exciting because I get to make sure that the financial inclusion gap is grossly reduced.

“Also working with other partners already on ground within the north, we get to create an ecosystem that supports financial independence of women
in the region.”
