Shasa crisis: Kano gives N18.5m to 185 indigenes

The Kano State Government has donated N18.5m to Kano indigenes who lost property to the recent crisis in Shasa market, Akinyele Local Government area of Oyo State.

Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje donated N100,000 each to about 180 indigenes of the state.

Chairman, Shasa Traders Association, Alhaji Usman Nyako, while receiving the donation of the cash, said he lost over N20m to the crisis.

Ganduje, represented at Akinyele village by the state’s Commissioners of Information, Education and Commerce, Muhammed Garba, Sanusi Muhammed Kiru and Ibrahim Muktar, respectively, said he felt their pains.

Garba said they had interacted with the Kano indigenes to know their pains and challenges.

Sanusi said: “About 185 who are indigene of Kano were affected by the incident, we have their list and their phone numbers and those of them who have already left Ibadan for Kano will also be identified and collect their money.”
