SGF mourns as perm sec dies at 56

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, has expressed sadness over the death of the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office (CAO), Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Mr. Babatunde Lawal.

The Permanent secretary, General Services Office (GSO) OSGF, Dr. Maurice Nnamdi Mbaeri, said this on Monday in a statement.

According to him, the late permanent secretary died on Friday, 6th November, 2020 at the age of 56 years.

“With total submission to the will of God, the public service of the federal republic of Nigeria announces the passing unto glory of Babatunde Lawal, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Deputy Secretary of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) which sad event occurred on Friday, 6th November, 2020 at the age of 56 years,” Mbaeri said.

He said that the Valedictory session by the body of permanent secretaries will hold on Tuesday, 10 November, 2020 by 5.00pm at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs auditorium, Tafawa Balewa House, Ahmadu Bello Way, Central Business District, Abuja. Attendance is strictly by invitation

Mbaeri said that the service of songs/ evening of tributes will hold on Friday 13 November by 4.00pm at the International Conference Centre, Garki, Abuja.

He added that the funeral service will be held at the National Christian Centre, behind Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters, Central Business District, Abuja on Saturday 14 November by 10.00am

“Interment at the Gudu Christian Cemetery, Abuja, immediately after the funeral service,” Mbaeri said.
