Seven die in Osogbo road crash

Seven people lost their lives in a multiple road crash on the dual carriage bypass ring road in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Tuesday.

The accident involved a Blue Mazda ES300 commercial bus with registration number RBC15 ZN, a yellow TVS tricycle with registration number RLG 898 QE and a green Bajaj Boxer TVS Motorcycle with registration number SGB 630 DN.

Men of the Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), policemen and other emergency responders rushed the injured to a hospital and evacuated the vehicles from the road.

The Public Enlightenment Officer of the FRSC, Agnes Ogungbemi, confirmed that seven people died in the accident, including four males and three females.

Ogungbemi blamed the crash on speed violation and cautioned drivers against excessive speeding.

The vehicles and the motorcycle involved were taken to the Dugbe Divisional Police Headquarters.
