Service chiefs tasked on tackling banditry, insecurity

The Coalition for Equity and Good Governance (CEGG) has urged the newly appointed service chiefs to work together and prioritise tackling banditry and other forms of insecurity in the country.

The National Coordinator of the group, Malam Abubakar Ibrahim, at a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja, noted that the prompt appointment of the service chiefs was a clear indication of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment towards addressing the security challenges bedevilling the country.

Ibrahim said that the development was a clear departure from past administrations where sensitive positions were left vacant after the exit of their predecessors.

Ibrahim while also commending the president for ensuring that equity and competence were observed in the appointment of the new service chiefs, urged the appointees to work together to rid Nigeria of the menace of banditry and insurgency.
